Using a solvent, the processor extracts the resin from the marijuana plant. The resin is then subjected to a purging process. For shredding, this process requires low heat and a longer suction time to extract the solvent from the resin. This results in the dry, powdery texture that forms the crumble.
Crumble is an extract, a form of cannabis concentrate that is produced with a solvent such as butane or CO2 in combination with heat and pressure. If you buy the crumbled wax at a dispensary, the package must include a label that indicates the exact THC content.
